The cyber security team regularly sends out fake emails company wide to test employees' awareness in deciphering if an email is malicious or legitimate. Unfortunately, hundreds of employees have failed these attempts multiple times, raising a red flag. The increased risk of opening the company up to malicious malware, cyber attacks, and leaking confidential information has become critical. The potential impact of these cyber attacks on our company is significant, and we must all take responsibility to prevent them.
THE PROBLEM
The subject matter experts and I solved the evident gap in understanding the importance of not mindlessly clicking random links when emailed. I decided this course would be best created in a thoroughly engaging module that draws the learner's attention, which will eliminate the stigma behind "Compliance training being boring." I made a futuristic feel encompassing the cyber style and created interactive menus that looked like video games. Splitting this ample information into digestible mini-sections will stick better for the learner's memory. They have to complete each section one by one before proceeding. This will eliminate going on autopilot while taking the training and not learning anything. Like many, we all learn differently. That's why I included a mulititude of different learning experiences in this training. Such as animated videos, short training videos, interactive UI, voiceovers, and the simple read the text to proceed.
